Had a really unusual and tough job last week. Small sheets of glass mosaics were applied to the floor and walls and to the entrance of a unit block. They looked great but the problem was-
1. The floor becomes like a skating rink when wet.
2.The tiler applied a coating sealant to the wall which had started flaking off and looked terrible.
Solution:
1. Anti-slip floor which worked great. A maintenance schedule will be left to help keep the anti-slip maintained.
2. The coating sealant was completely wrong. First we had to strip the walls of all sealant. This took a long time but if you don’t get it 100% stripped and clean there will be trouble down the line. We then neutralized and thoroughly cleaned the walls with S4S marble cleaner. When dried we applied 2 x coats of marble sealer and wiped off the excess. The results speak for themselves (note photo). All they will need now is a hose to clean them down.
