Newly laid terracotta tiles on two decks. First step scrub with terracotta tile cleaner. This removed the grout haze. We then neutralized with S4S marble cleaner. In the afternoon we sealed the floor with oil and water repellent sealer.

The terracotta tiles were about 15 years old and were sealed with a heavy duty solvent based sealer. We had to get a 20ltr drum of xylene to strip the old sealant. A 5 hour job turned into 17 hours. The result was great but exhausting. We then scrubbed it with a brown pad on the poly vac machine and S4S marble cleaner at 5 parts water to 1
part S4S. After wet vac drying the floors looked great.
That day I applied 2 x coats of terracotta matt sealer and the next day another coat. Turned out fantastic.

The S4S marble cleaner can be used to clean marble, travertine, limestone and a whole lot more. It works marvellously as a stone neutralizer which is extremely important.
If for instance the area that is to be sealed is not neutralized the sealer will not work.
Note how the terracotta floors came up beautifully in the pictures.

Its funny how you go through different stages in working cycles. Terracotta, which I have left alone in the past, is making a big resurgence. Three jobs at once. One is a new ‘Mexican Terracotta’ not top, the second is a newly laid deck and repairs and the third is a very old (15years) floor [...]

First things first. Prior to grouting you must pre-seal. Using a water based pre-seal apply via a bucket using a lambs wool applicator. Thoroughly soak all tiles. Grout cleaning becomes so much easier in the clean up. The tiler will grout tomorrow so I’ll be back 2 days after to clean and sea.

Had a few quotes to do.
Firstly had to do samples to show finish. the sandstone tiles had been sealed with a coating sealant, many times by the previous owner for 18 years. To do the sample, I had to apply a stripper and scrub twice. Then scrubbed with a sandstone cleaner, then neutralized with S4S. [...]

On new surfaces the initial pre seal is very important. Prior to grouting , the tiles need to be pre-sealed. Usually a water based pre-seal works well. This ensures complete clean up of all grout which smears into the porous surface of the tiles. After grouting you then need to use an acid based cleaner [...]

Arrived at Unit 26 at 7.00am porcelain/Limestone/Sandstone tiles with transportation wax glued firmly to them. We see a bit of this. You need to use a chemical that will dilute the wax then machine scrubber clean at the same time, and wet vac up waste before it dries. We then use our marble cleaning product [...]
